Aim today was 2 miles at 11:40 pace. Felt good apart from the slight irritation on my right foot due to mossie bites Complete 2.08 miles in 23:00. Average pace 11:03.

Longest run so far - 7 miles. Went somewhere new fot it too! Set out in light drizzle, which turned into a 10 minute heavy shower at about the 3 mile mark. The last mile was more persistent rain. The only problem I had was the rain washing the sweat into my eyes which stung and meant I couldn't see Completed in 1:16:58. A bit faster than the target 11:40 pace

Having seen the weather forecast last night, I half expected to be doing today's session on the treadmill. However, when I looked out the window, although I could see it had been raining, I couldn't see that it was still raining. So out I went. In fact there was a light drizzle, which by the end of my run had turned to rain The plan was 2 miles @11:40 pace. I did 2.08 miles in 22:15. Thats 10:42 pace

Aim this morning was 4 miles @ 10:07 pace. Woke up to the sound of rain so opted for the treadmill. Just as I started, the rain stopped Set the speed to 5.9 mph and incline 2. After 2 miles I dropped the incline to 1. Gave up after 3 miles as I was gasping for a drink. Must remember to fill my sports bottle next time and put it on the mill. Total running time 31:44 - the longest treadmill run I've done

Felt really tough today, probably due to the lack of sleep. Someone was letting fireworks off late last night and I had to try and calm the dog down. When I finally got to bed all I could hear was the thump thump of the music Anyway, did 6.97 miles in 1:18:53. Nearly came a cropper as I tripped over a tree route around the 6 mile mark! Splits: out 28:55, loop 19:39, back 30:19.

Woke up to the delightful sounds of rain So onto the treadmill again This time I had a desk fan to keep me a bit cooler, plus I filled my drinks bottle (although it didn't fit in the holder ) Did 2 miles at 5.3 mph and incline 2. Total time 22:47.

Back on the roads Target was 3 miles @ 10:02 pace. Felt quite good even though I'd taught a couple of tough classes this week with loads of quad and glute work. Mile splits: 9:51, 9:35, 9:41. Total 3.07 miles in 29:40.

10K road race. Started too fast completing the first km in 5:44. Then slowed to a more reasonable pace of just over 6 min/km. Slowed further when I hit the hills between 7 and 9 km. Kept going though and managed to pass a few others Managed a sprint finish to complete the last km in 5:52 End result a new PB 60:34

Could have easily turned over and gone back to sleep, but I didn't. Slow 2 miles in 23:05. A few niggles starting with my left hip, then left knee, then right foot. For the first time it was a relief to take my trainers off

Ooops, haven't logged any running here for ages Don't worry, I haven't given up, although I did have a bit of a break due to a stinking cold and then a holiday. Here is a brief summary of what I have done: 23/09 2.53 miles in 23:55 28/09 5 mile race in 47:55 (I'd predicted 48 so was dead chuffed) 1/10 2.08 miles in 23:27 3/10 3.07 miles in 31:15 5/10 5 miles on the treadmill, 57:47 7/40 2 miles on the treadmill, 22:47 9/10 interval session 2x1600m with 800m recovery 11/10 6.33 miles in 1:06:50 14/10 2.08 miles in 22:57 18/10 6.97 miles in 1:17:01 And today, 1 measly mile on the treadmill in 9:41. Should have been at least 3, but my legs felt like jelly.

Went out in the rain yesterday for 7.9 miles which I completed in 1:26:23. The first mile and last half mile felt quite tough. The former was due to going too fast. I'd planned on 11 min miles but did the first one in 10:33 Its given me confidence though as I have now entered a half marathon for the end of November

Went out for a 9 miler this morning. Started out feeling quite cold and started to think about getting some winter running gear. However after a couple of miles I was beginning to regret putting my 3/4 length leggings on and wished I'd opted for shorts The tough parts of the routes were the inclines at 6.5 and 7.5 miles. Finished well though with a bit of an increased pace for the last 100 yards. Completed in 1:39:57.

Did a short treadmill run. Started out with the intention of 25 minutes at 5.8 mph. After 1 mile I slowed this down to 5.5 mph as it was feeling tough. Gave up after a further half mile. Total time 15:48.

Did the Leatherhead Fire Station 10K yesterday which was chip timed. The first 5K was predominantly uphill and I did that in 31:33. Second half was quicker with a finishing time of 1:00:07. If my watch hadn't packed up by the 5K mark I might have managed an extra push to get the sub 60.
