My holiday was nearly a disaster from the start.  After driving through torrential rain and at times very poor visibility, we arrived at the campsite to be told that due to the adverse conditions all caravans were being tractored onto the pitches.  The warden told us we could unhitch the van and drive round the site to choose our pitch.  Tony had got back into the car and I was just walking round to get in the other side when I detected some movement out of the corner of my eye.  Shouting to Tony in panic I ran towards our moving caravan and somehow managed to grab hold of it and stop it about a yard from someones car  Shocked

Been there, done that. It's very easily done. A momentary lapse of concentration and an unhitched 'van can be away like a dog off it's leash. You did very well to stop it, especially on wet ground.  Smiley

.... can be away like a dog off it's leash

And I certainly know about that  Wink

When I caught the van (by the handles we have been advised not to use) I couldn't make out who was most relieved...me, or the couple in the 53 plate car that the van was aiming for!

It wasn't the only time we thought we'd lose the van either.  Several nights we thought we were going to be blown away by the wind.
